What is the AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill?

The innovative AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill is a game changer for physiotherapy treatment. Whether you’re a person with reduced ability to walk or an athlete dealing with lower body injuries, chronic pain or neurological conditions that inhibit mobility, you can benefit from the unweighting capabilities.

The AlterG treadmill supports you with walking and/or running in a safe environment, which is also controlled and pain free. This enables the you to maximise recovery and will also help you to achieve training goals.

The treadmill relies on advanced air pressure technology, which after calibrating the clients weight, allows a percentage of their body weight, to lift up from the hips – which are supported by the shorts.

It works by reducing the weight going through the client’s body from between 20 and 100 percent, which allows them to work on the treadmill without fully weight-bearing. It can be reduced in 1% increments. It can also be used to aid weight loss for clients who experience pain when exercising.

Osteoarthritis

A client who suffered from osteoarthritis in her hip, who was previously unable to walk on a treadmill at all without pain, is now able to run on the treadmill pain free. It allows the client to walk/run with no pain while maintaining a normal walking and running pattern. It reduced the stress on the client’s hip, and also gave her the confidence and ability to walk/run faster and longer, and also recover faster with reduced pain. She can now run 10 kilometers on the AlterG and has found herself addicted to running.

SaeboStretch
