Supporting our patients in the community is something that we are incredibly passionate about. We relish the challenge of working in different environments and facilities to support our patients to integrate into the community. This could be accessing local leisure facilities, engaging in sport, returning to hobbies or returning to work if they are able.
We will support our patients to engage in as much as possible and sometimes try things that they have never tried before. We believer that these new experiences have an incredibly beneficial effect on overall rehabilitation.
We are able to provide treatment in:
The Climbing wall that we work with has state of the art equipment complete with adapted equipment and hoists to allow disabled patients to access the facilities. We work with the patient and the climbing instructors to set goals and ensure that technique is maximising the outcome of therapy goals.
We work with the UK’s leading disability horse riding provider to allow patients to access supported horse riding sessions. Horse riding naturally challenges the core muscles and promotes good posture which is incredibly beneficial for many patients with neurological conditions or injuries.
With access to one of the UK’s best Hydrotherapy facilities we provide expert Physiotherapy treatment in a heated pool to allow patients to carry out weight bearing exercises.
We regularly work with patients in the local gym facilities. We attend the gym with our patients, ensure that they are using the equipment correctly and with correct technique to ensure that no injuries or negative effects are sustained. We provide each patient with a photographed taylor made programme for them to work through with at the gym with family, cares support workers or gym staff once they are competent to do so.
We also have access to gym facilities that have specially adapted equipment for patients in wheel chairs of who have difficulty in gripping standard gym equipment.
